Watching videos
The site starts with Editor\'s Pick videos. You do not need to register to watch and search videos.
Registering
Registering is easy. Just click on Register and fill the requested fields.
Commenting
You can comment videos as a guest (without registering). Registering saves you the trouble of inserting a captcha on
each of your comments. Please note that our comments are very large
size so feel comfortable to start lenghty discussions about the video.
Uploading and embedding videos
Click
Upload, fill all the fields. Please pay special attention to the
Categories.
This will enable us to maintain a clever categorization throughout the
site and will permit the users to find easily nice videos to enjoy.
Click
Continue to upload. in the
Video Step 2/2 you will see three tabs.
- The first one Upload File is for uploading from your computer. If uploading from your computer click Upload
and select the file on your computer. Formats supported are:
wmv,avi,divx,3gp,mov,mpeg,mpg,xvid,flv,asf,rm,dat,mp4,mod. Upload
starts immediately. The maximum file size is 1GB but please bear in
mind that large files will be impractical to upload and convert and
they will take very long time to convert on the server side. Please
spit accordingly, for example each movement of a large piece in a
separate file. Also you may downgrade the size of the videos by using
appropriate software. When the upload has finished go to My Videos. Your video will show as Processing, Succesful or Pending.
- The second tab Remote Upload
is for when you have the URL (web address) of a file which resides on
the Internet and you want to share it with us. Please pay attention
that this URL must be the address of the video file not the page in
which this video shows. Most sites gives the URL for the page and not
for the file itself. If you have such an URL insert it there and click Upload.
- The third is Embed Code.
This is very useful! When browsing in a video site you may see a box
which says \"Embed Code\", click on that and you will get a box with some
code in it. Copy that code and paste it in the first box Please enter your embed code. You must enter
the video duration in HH:MM:SS format. For example for a 11 minutes 34
seconds video enter: 00:11:34. This is shown at the bottom of the
player, in Youtube(r) for instance. The you must insert a thumb image from your computer. Note for vimeo: hover your mouse in the player window, options will appear on the left side, click embed, use the option old embed code, you can set other options as well. Here too you must upload a thumbnail image since the site is unable (for the time being) of generating an image from an embedded video.
Note that videos must be
approved by our administrators before showing up.
Sharing
You can share the video by clicking on the share icon and send an email.
When you click watch this video you will see icons for social media sharing sites (like Facebook(r)). Click on any of them and share! Yes, please share, thank you! You can also embed the video in your website (copy the embed code) and/or send a link to it (copy paste the code in Link this video). Finally you can download the video by cliking on Click here to download this video.
